Steve Norris

Project Development

Steve is Alberta-born, Calgary-raised, and resides in the community of Highwood with his wife and son. He loves his job but is happiest chasing a soccer ball or hiking somewhere hard to get to. With a background in science, he has been in the industry since 2006, project managing with a mid-sized multifamily builder. He then started his self-named company, Steve Norris & Partners (SNAP) Building, in 2016. SNAP and Plaid Shirt LT have aligned as ongoing partners with Steve taking the lead on project development, while keeping his finger on the pulse of industry trends. To Steve, the "Plaid Shirt" image signifies a team that doesn't just project manage - but is hands-on in executing the vision and plans.

Mike Mills

Construction Manager

Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Mike has been married for over twenty years and has four kids. He started in the construction industry in 1992, as a flooring contractor and a manager at one of the top flooring companies in western Canada before expanding his scope to renovation and home construction. The negative impact of the construction industry on the environment led Mike to this partnership with other like-minded individuals - Jesse and Steve. His vision of Plaid Shirt is to be one of the few Calgary teams building better than net-zero homes and having a positive impact on the environment and community.

Jesse Bastain

Project Manager

In the building industry for over twenty years in and around the Calgary region, Jesse now lives on the edge of Fish Creek Park. He enjoys how the location offers daily gems of nature in a quiet, relaxed community for his wife and three children while being immersed in City life. Jesse started Element Contracting in 2003, paving the way for bigger and better things! With a focus on custom carpentry and project management, Jesse had collaborated with Mike and Steve over many years on projects large and small, and joining forces through Plaid Shirt was an exciting next step. The "Plaid Shirt" approach is just like the clothing: reliable, comfortable, and always there when you need it.
